Application Process
- Submit an online rehire application by April 15, 2025
- Check your email for your requal date.
- Reply to the email to confirm your date.
- Arrive to the Joseph Von Savage Pool at least 15 minutes prior to your test.
- Bring all required paperwork.
Requalification Test Information
Requirements
- Pool Swim Test: 250 yards < 4 minutes
- Stamina Test: .5 mile run < 3:45 minutes
- AED/CPR Re-certification
- SJLCA Ocean Swim Requirement: 500 yard < 10 minutes (Completed by 08/01/2025)

Requalification Paperwork
All returning personnel must bring a current copy of the following documents to requal in order to be processed at city hall for return to work. Please note that your start date is dependent upon your submission of all required documents.
- Recent WCBP Medical Form (Physical):Mandatory
- Driver's License
- Social Security Card
- All returning members must complete the Primepoint on-line packet before you start work. No exceptions.
- Once access to Primepoint is available, a notice will be sent out to your attention
- All returning personnel will be required to submit an online background check after passing the requal swim/run/CPR-First Aid Tests. Background check must be processed before start date. Information regarding completing the "Background" check will be sent to your attention after April 15, 2025
Important Information
- It is extremely important to reapply by April 15, 2025
- If you are not planning on returning, please indicate that on the rehire form.
- All WCBP members that do not reply by April 15th will be considered as not returning, and their positions may be relinquished to new candidates.
- Please note that if you plan to return, you must be available to start by no later than July 1, 2025 and work until at least August 15, 2025. No interrupted service, i.e: (no family vacations, school camps, summer school, etc.) Any exception to this policy must be submitted and cleared by Chief Johnson prior to start date.
- As you know your work as a lifeguard is important, and the people that visit the beaches of Wildwood Crest rely on you for your professionalism and skills. Please be ready to work and be in shape for your job.

Important Dates
- As always, we will work weekends starting Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26).
- Official Full time status will start on June 7, 2025 and work through the weekend after Labor Day
- Rookie School June TBA CPR/Advanced First Aid Certification
- Rookie School Training Camp June TBA
- July 1, 2025: Full staff
- July 7, 2025 (Monday) Cape May County Lifeguard Championships 6:15 PM
