Qualifications

The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol is seeking enthusiastic and responsible people to become lifeguards and keep our beaches safe this summer. 
​

Minimum Age: 16

Application Process

  • Applicant must submit an online application.
  • ​WCBP personnel will review the application. 
  • Applicant will be notified via email in late April/early May indicating a time and date to complete testing requirements.
  • Applicant must confirm availability for the tryout/testing date via response email.
  • Applicant must download and complete the WCBP medical form prior to testing date.

Test Information

Requirements

Testing will consist of the following:
  1. Pool Swim (250 yard swim)
  2. Beach Run (approximately 1.5 mile run)
  3. Ocean Surf Dash (conditions permitting)
  4. Interview

  • May 20, 2023 8:00 am Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool
  • June 3, 2023 8:00 am Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool
  • June 10, 2023 8:00 am Joseph Von Savage Memorial Pool (if needed)

Rookie Training Camp

Depending on staffing needs, candidates that meet the above requirements may be invited to a 10-day training camp.
​The camp will consist of training in first-aid, CPR, AED, and skills such as ocean water rescues, swimming, rescue board paddling, and rowing as well as overall general physical fitness.

Dates

  • CPR/Basic First Aid Certification: June 17, 18, 19
  • Rookie Training Camp begins: June 20
