"A Matter of Course"
The whistle blew and off they flew,
while strangers watched amazed.
As swiftly they challenged the churning sea's power
to aid those helpless and dazed.
Through waters cold they swam so bold;
the victims dire in need.
Would time ebb too quickly, that aid would be futile?
Calmly, the guards did succeed.
Now 'tis o'er, another good score;
the victims in competent hands.
And little is said to the guards in red;
the guards, back on the stands.
